English Charlie’s is named after Charlie a well known local character who, 60 years ago, lived on the site where we built this house. We have made his place ours and yours too, if you would like to stay.
The house is set back off the road with south facing rooms which over look a semi wild garden with the Milton burn flowing through, and beyond to fields and woodland rising to the Cairngorm range. It is a place that offers peace and quiet, where you can be replenished and restored what ever the weather and season ... even when it snows, snow on snow ...!

Location
We are located in the heart of the Spey valley two and a half miles south west of Aviemore on the road that leads to Loch-an-Eilein with its picturesque castle ruins on the Island. The area is part of Rothiemurchus Estate, one of the loveliest places in the highlands, with unspoilt lochs, woodlands and forests, bordered by the River Spey and the dramatic Cairngorm mountains.Aviemore, with its new resort centre, is just off the A9, approx.30 miles south of Inverness and 120 miles north of Edinburgh.
Self catering
Almost half the house has been converted to accommodate guests in a self contained ground floor apartment. The unit consists of two twin bedded rooms with a shared bathroom. The large sunny living room has ample space to sleep two people. A new attractively appointed kitchen adjoins the living dining room.
There is central heating through out and good drying facilities which you are welcome to use. |
